• Rabbi Shmuel HaLevi Wosner (1913-2015) was a Haredi rabbi and posek living in Bnei Brak, Israel, known for his major work Shevet HaLevi.
• He was born in Vienna, Austria-Hungary, and studied at the Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin of Poland under Rabbi Meir Shapiro.
• In the 1930s, he immigrated to Palestine and settled in Jerusalem, where he joined the Edah HaChareidis. He eventually relocated to Bnei Brak.
• He authored several works of Jewish law, including ten volumes of halakhic rulings and responsa on Jewish laws called Shevet HaLevi.
• At 101 years old, he died in Bnei Brak; his sons include Rabbis Chaim Wosner (formerly Dayan of London's Satmar community) and Bentzion Wosner (av bet din of Shevet Halevi).
