Parshas Achrei Mos-Kedoshim | The Only Place to Start
Good morning! Welcome to another inspiring Torah Talk, where we look deeper into our Jewish heritage. This time, it's Parashas Acharei Mos Kedoshim that's being focused on - and what an important lesson this particular episode teaches us. It all aligns with living in reality and understanding our spiritual level.
In the Torah portion Achrei Mos, God speaks to Moses after the death of Aaron's two sons, who were killed for coming too close to the presence of God. God instructs Moses and Aaron on the procedures surrounding Yom Kippur and describes all the laws surrounding sexual prohibitions. In Kedoshim, God explains to Moses many ethical and ritual rules aimed at helping people live lives of holiness. The regulations described include those recorded in the Ten Commandments, such as respecting one's parents, keeping the Sabbath, and not stealing. God also introduces rules about farming and about belief in supernatural beings.
