Remembering Rabbi Wallerstein zt"l

Rabbi Zecharia Wallerstein ztl was a renowned and respected scholar who dedicated his life to enabling Jewish women to explore and grow in their knowledge of the Torah. He founded Ohr Yitzchak, Ateres Naava Seminary for Girls, and Ohr Naava Women's Institute in Brooklyn, NY, to provide a safe space where women of all ages could meet together, learn from one another, and gain a deeper understanding of Judaism. The Ohr Naava program was created with Rabbi Wallerstein's guidance and commitment to empowering female students. It offers various courses taught by experienced scholars on topics such as Talmud study, Halakhah (Jewish law), philosophy, and more. The curriculum is designed to challenge, inspire and enlighten the students' knowledge of the Torah.

Additionally, the program has a strong emphasis on developing leadership qualities and encouraging women to take an active role in their Jewish community. Rabbi Wallerstein saw Ohr Naava as a way for Jewish women to connect and build meaningful relationships while deepening their understanding of Judaism. He dedicated his life to creating a supportive learning environment where female students could explore their relationship with G-d and feel empowered by their learning ability. Today, Rabbi Wallerstein's legacy lives on at Ohr Naava through its inspiring programs that continue to provide an enriching Judaic experience for women from all walks of life. Ohr Naava is a testament to Rabbi Wallerstein's commitment to uplifting the lives of Jewish women and his vision for creating a vibrant community of empowered female learners. We are forever indebted to Rabbi Wallerstein for his dedication and passion in providing an environment where Jewish women can gain knowledge of the Torah and develop their spiritual growth. His legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
